From 28 March to 5 June 2025, the Valsusa Film Fest, a movie and cultural festival, will be offering a packed programme of events focusing on the themes of war, historical memory, the mountains, the environment and social inclusion: 28 events in 10 municipalities in the Susa Valley - Condove, Almese, Avigliana, Bardonecchia, Bussoleno, Chianocco, Oulx, San Giorio di Susa, Susa, Villar Dora - and 2 in Torino (25 April at the Diffused Museum of the Resistance and 17 May at the International Book Fair).
For almost three decades this festival has been a widespread cultural laboratory, an opportunity to build community through art, culture and memory, reflecting on the present with an eye towards young people and the future of the Susa Valley and the world. As per tradition, it includes screenings of works in and out of competition, theatre performances, concerts, book presentations and meetings with special guests.
The 29th edition of the festival is dedicated to Mercedes Sosa (1935-2009), the extraordinary Argentinian singer and activist who used her art to give voice to the fight for human rights and against indifference towards injustice: her famous song Sólo le pido a Dios is an appeal for peace and the rejection of war. This theme runs through the entire festival programme, stimulating reflection on how art and culture can help fight indifference and build a more united and aware future.
