Inaugurating the second part of the Turin Baroque Music Festival - 2024 is this concert curated by the Maghini Academy. The evening will celebrate the figure of Giacomo Carissimi, in the 350th anniversary of his death, along with that of Giovanni Battista Fergusio, a Scottish-born composer active in early 17th-century Turin. The concert, of great musicological interest and strong impact, will be conducted by Claudio Chiavazza and will show that line of development of musical and narrative language in the sacred sphere that - linking three realities such as Turin, Venice and Rome - will lead during the seventeenth century to the birth of the Baroque oratorio.
