The Torino Jazz Festival returns with its thirteenth edition from 23 to 30 April, under the artistic direction of Stefano Zenni.
A point of reference for jazz enthusiasts, in addition to the traditional Main Events’ and Jazz Cl(h)ub concerts, the festival offers a wide range of events, including Jazz Talks (meetings and conferences), Jazz Cinema, and above all Jazz Blitz, which will bring music to various corners of the city.
During the eight days of the festival, Turin will thus transform into a large stage, with 71 concerts in 58 different locations, including the Auditorium Agnelli, the Bunker, the Conservatory and the Colosseo theater.
The festival hosts 289 artists, including emerging talents and leading names on the international jazz scene. There will be eight original productions and there will also be a film made with footage from past editions.
The theme of this edition, “Libera la musica”, invites you to overcome genre boundaries and explore jazz in all its facets.
The program ranges between different musical influences, from dance with Il Ballo della Liberazione on April 25th and flamenco, to contaminations between jazz and rock with Calibro 35.
There will be no shortage of electronic experiments and fusions with classical music and world music.
Among the tributes, in addition to April 30th International Jazz Day, an acknowledgment to Enrico Rava "who brought the Turin of jazz to the world".
One of the most anticipated events is “Il Big Bang del Jazz” by Jason Moran, an original production of the TJF presented as a European exclusive.
