With fifteen appointments from March to June, the Fondazione Ordine Mauriziano is organising extraordinary guided tours to (re)discover the secret spaces, normally closed to the public, of the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi. It starts with ‘Behind the secret doors’, on 1, 15, 29 March; 12 April; 17 and 31 May; 14 and 28 June. The visit leads right into the hidden spaces where the servants used to move, into the passages and corridors, used to escape and discreetly reach the rooms and private flats; where the painting of the automatic bells can still be found, giving an insight into the workings of a residence like Stupinigi. It continues with ‘Under the Stag’, scheduled for 8 and 22 March; 5 April; 10 and 24 May; and 7 and 21 June: from the grand central hall one walks up 50 steps to reach the characteristic balcony and finally arrives, via a narrow spiral staircase of a further 50 steps, at the top of the Juvarra dome to admire the unusual pavilion roof supported by a complex wooden frame. The ‘Passepartout’ guided tours are scheduled exclusively on designated days. Maximum 10 people per tour (minimum age 12 years).Booking required: stupinigi@info.ordinemauriziano.it
