FIERA NAZIONALE DEL MARRONE

18-10-2024 / 20-10-2024

The Fiera del Marrone in Cuneo is a symbolic event showcasing the culinary and artisanal quality of the region, accompanied by cultural and scientific initiatives with the chestnut, the first IGP product from Cuneo, as the main protagonist.
In 2009, the event was awarded the title of “National” Fair, with a schedule of events that, since then, has animated the third weekend of October every year. The fair is a must for tasting roasted chestnuts, Pan di Crue, Castagnaccio, Montebianco, and many other chestnut-based products while strolling through the historic center of the city or relaxing in one of the many cafes.
Over the three days of the event, hundreds of exhibitors fill the streets of Cuneo’s historic center with the aromas, flavors, and colors of roasted chestnuts and the finest specialties from Piedmont and Italy, such as ravioli, fritters, polenta, Piedmont-style mixed fried food, ravioles from Valle Varaita, spit-roasted pork, crêpes, anchovies in green sauce, hamburgers, and fried mushrooms. All of this is complemented by liters of excellent Piedmontese wines and mulled wine for the enjoyment of tens of thousands of visitors.
Each year during the fair, between 25 and 30 tons of chestnuts are consumed, which equates to around 165,000 to 200,000 bags of roasted chestnuts.
In addition to the food and wine experiences, the Fiera also offers high-quality craftsmanship, educational workshops, cultural initiatives, tourist attractions, exhibitions, performances, and concerts.
